 Aquatic plants play an important role in any aquatic ecosystem. However, many aquatic ecosystems have been affected by human activity, resulting in increased nutrients or sediments from the surrounding land. This has led to the increased, and often excessive development of invasive and harmful aquatic vegetation.
One of the most effective, selective control methods of invasive algae and aquatic plant growth is USEPA approved herbicides and algaecides. To control the growth, it is important to determine the exact plant growing within your water system. At Allied Biological, we help you identify the exact species of aquatic plant, and then apply the appropriate herbicide and algaecide at a specific rate and time to return a balance to ecosystem, and improve conditions for your recreational use.
We utilize over 20 different materials, all approved by the USEPA and State Environmental Agencies, and chosen for their selectivity. This selectivity targets exotic, invasive plant species, or specific sites of plants, while minimizing impacts to non-target organisms.
 Allied Biological employs six experienced pesticide applicators, certified in the field of Aquatics, and maintains pesticide applicator business licenses in NJ, NY, PA, DE, and MD. We operate a fleet of boats from 10’ – 38’, all with specialized pesticide application systems. We are capable of large volume applications, and are staffed to provide rapid response to unusual circumstances.
