Management Plan Development

A Management Plan, be it Aquatic Plant or Invasive Species, is a summary of what has been done in the past, what needs to be done now, and what may be needed in the future. Allied Biological’s staff of scientists and extensive experience sets us apart from our competitors, and allows us to develop detailed Aquatic Vegetation and Invasive Species Management Plans that meet and exceed regulatory guidelines. These plans are often required elements of state permitting programs, and provide organization, direction and stability to lake owners and communities through the years. Particularly in lake communities, as Board representation changes, new members rely on long-term management plans to continue successful initiatives and avoid remaking past mistakes.

In 2006, the State of New York determined that a formal Management Plan would be necessary for all lakes over 6.4 acres that included public or state resources, as well as those seeking public Grant funding. New Jersey and Pennsylvania have yet to enact such a formal policy, but strongly encourage lake owners to adopt management plans. The result is that a large number of lake communities and municipalities have been pressed to take a more detailed look at their lakes, and the lakes can only benefit from this attention. Allied Biological has written several successful management plans for lakes throughout New York and New Jersey.
