Consulting Services
Allied Biological currently manages over 200+ water bodies each year, and has managed thousands of others over our long history. Whether long term or short term, we have the ability to investigate the issues within your aquatic habitat, determine the causes, and plan the best course of action.
Our consultations start with on-site assessments that determine the ecological condition within the lake, reservoir, or pond. Once an initial assessment has been made, we can develop a course of action that targets the problem, whether that problem may be algae, weeds, or excess nutrients. Plans will include the most efficient and cost-effective methods for restoration and the most environmentally sensitive approaches.
As the April, 2011 deadline for National Pollution Discharge Elimination Permits (NPDES or SPDES) fast approaches, Allied Biological is ready to assist with Notice of Intent (NOI) filings, Pesticide Residue monitoring and Pesticide Discharge Management Plans (PDMP). The PDMP requirements match the scope of our Aquatic Plant Management Plans, which we have authored for numerous lake community clients over the past 5 years.
NPDES permits (or SPDES permits in NY, NJ, PA & CT) are a requirement for aquatic pesticide use as of 2011. Allied Biological is prepared to help our clients make a smooth transition to the new procedural requirements, so each lake’s ecological condition or recreational uses aren’t negatively impacted.
